I have a CD-RW connected to IDE 1
I have a DVD-ROM connected to IDE 2
I have a SATA HD connected to SATA 1
Should my ROM Drives be on seperate IDE's, or is it better to to have one a master and one a slave on the same IDE?
For BIOS settings:
On board SATA BOOTROM [Enabled]
Promise Controls [Disabled]
These are the 2 settings I'm not sure of.

If I disable the SATA BOOTROM, I can get to the WInXP set up, but my HD is not recognized. How to I get to the command promt to format?

If I enable the SATA BOOTROM, all I get is a blinking _.

Thanks for your help,

In order for XP to recognize the SATA hard drive, early on in the install you have to press F6, then put in the SATA driver diskette when eventually prompted. The driver should be included on a CD that came with the motherboard, or assuming you have the SK8V and not the SV8K you listed, the driver is here:

Promise SATA378 Driver V1.00.0.26 for Windows 98SE/NT4.0/ME/2000/XP/2003

I can get to the screen, but it looks for the drivers on a floppy, I have no floppy drive.
