Lift the keypad and remove the large battery. Depending on what the laptops are, you should find a couple of small batteries that have a wire with a small plug. Look for them under the floppy drive which pulls out. Leave them out for a minute or so then replace everything.
There are some laptops where you cannot see the battery necause it is not placed under the keyboard. Some of these have a set of 3 jumpers where the ram is, short pins 1-2 and that should clear it. I have also heard of some putting a reset under the plastic bezel near where the power switch is.
Usually motherboards have a JUmper to reset the BIOS to its Default (without password). If you find it, reset it for a reset it for some seconds..and then put it back..and turn on the PC. A+, MCP, CCNA
