I got a computer from a friend. He installed Linux on it a long time ago and forgot about it. I bought it from him cheap thinking I would just format it and use it for windows. I can't get it to NOT boot into linux. It will not boot from the floppy and I've looked through all the BIOS options there are. It also won't boot from a Win98 bootable CD. Any help would be appreciated.
If it w/n boot from a floppy then I would consider that a Bios issue. What type of computer is it?

There must be a way to reset the Bios to defaults...RTC battery or motherboard jumper....check it out.

Doug
dxd_2000@yahoo.com

I don't understand "RTC battery or motherboard". I've tried setting the BIOS to defaults. It doesn't help. It has a bootable floppy and bootable CD and ignores both and boots into Linux. It has a SCSI hard drive installed, if that helps.
If you remove the SCSI hard drive or adapter will it boot to a floppy?

What model SCSI adapter? Is the Cdrom SCSI or IDE?

Doug
dxd_2000@yahoo.com

How about the boot order parameter in the bios. If you tell it to boot a:,C; and a: doesn't boot then you have defective a: or a defective bios. And if you don't have boot order choice you are down to bad drive. You said that it would not boot from a bootable cdrom. Where did you set it to try? Normal boot order 1st floppy, 1st harddrive. Cd will boot only on those machines with boot order choice in bios.
Ed Fair
