Trying to create a separate log file for dns. Currently it is logging into the 'message' log file and there are no defined logging in named.conf.
So I added some entries into named.conf. When I restart named, I get a 'file not found /var/log/named.log'. Was thinking if the file didn't exist, that it would create it, but guess not. So I just copied and renamed the current message log file and touched it. Still get the file not found error. I have double checked the permissions and path '/var/log/named.log', Looks ok to me.
There is a line in named.conf 'directory /var/named'. Would that be causing problems?
This is on Centos 4.3 Bind 9.2.4
Thanks
