BIG PCI WIRELESS PROBLEM

Ok guys I have good one here. I got a Compaq presario 5284 with AMD K6 450mhz 384mb ram on Windows XP Pro. I am trying to install the wireless pci adapter 22mbps(US Robotics).After exhausting all efforts which means following installation procedure step by step with customer service rep. guiding me through it, and reseating card several times, changing slots,cleaning slots, removing all other network adapters, removing driver and reinstalling several times,searching for new hardware, I have also installed the pci adapter in another computer that I have that is running XP Pro and it installed the thing with no problem,which leads me back to Compaq Presario 5284 is my Problem.
I think it is a Bios config problem with the pci slot but the system will not allow me in cmos,commands del.,ctl.alt.esc,function keys do not work to get in.
HELP!!!! HELP!!!! HELP!!!! ANY SUGGESTIONS WOULD BE APPRECIATED......US Robotics engineers are working on it but I know somebody out there can help. Thank You.

Try the f2 key on boot to get into bios

[F10] while the cursor is flashing in the upper right corner. And it may require you to add a diagnostic partition at the beginning of the hard drive ot allow you to do some things. And you may find that everything you do will not accomplish what you want. Some presarios were minimal machines that just wouldn't allow upgrade. Ed Fair
