This is the scenario in one of our offices. There are seven M2616 sets in the group...

DN 7178
DN 7165
DN 7132
DN 7128
DN 3354
DN 3079
DN 7134

Each has a 22-button add-on module. Keys 16 thru 21 on each of these are programmed as BFS keys except for DN 7134 which is programmed as "SCN 7134" on the other six add-on modules because it is key 3 on a set with DN 3351 on key 0 and BFS would not work the same way. When callers dial 7134 or 3351, keys 16 thru 21 on the other six sets in the group light up solid. Any suggestions? Maybe I can swap the locations of DNs 7134 and 3351 on that one set and use BFS on the other six sets. Also, the message waiting lamp for the two mailboxes (DNs 3351 and 7134) stop working on that particular phone set. Could it just be a malfunctioning M2616? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

not the set, software (99 percent of the time) your sets are working just like you programed them.. for bfs to be usable, each set gets one dn

key 0 mcr 7178
key 1 mcr 7178
key 2 mcr 7178

lpk 2
lhk 0

all phones have just mcr 71xx (3 times) and all other normal keys, just no other dn's.. then give them the bfs and a pickup key..cls pua gpua rnpg xx.. if i hear a phone, press the pick, i will see the flash on my set (bfs).. adding the same mcr/scr to all phones almost kills any help the bfs will add,,, other techs may program bfs/mcr/scr in other ways, this is the way most customers can work with...

The messaging waiting indicator would not work properly if you do not have a phone programmed with the DN as key zero and because this set appears on multiple phones and is not key 0 on any phone. The voicemail system doesn't know which set to light.

Also BFS buttons monitor a set, not a DN. So the lamp works with what the "phone" is doing not a DN that may appear on that phone. If I have BFS button, it doesn't matter which DN I am using on the set, the BFS will display that I am on the phone, or if a set is forwarded, etc. My guess is that it has something to do with the way you have your keys laid out on the phones why these features aren't working right for you.

there is a class mark to make a xmwk or rmwk light the overhead but i don't remember that class mark without being at work.. i use it for an acd group and a dept mb. it lights about 8 lamps for the acd agents, including the overhead

You might want to check that all the add-ons are installed properly. There is a small clip under the sets for routing the ribbon cable. If the cable is not under the clip it is very easy to put a screw through the cable when you attach the base. That will cause all kinds of weird problems.

that screw can cause some insane overtime on a large install..
