best way to write online asset management in asp.net

Hi there
im trying to find the best way to write an online asp.net for an asset management database. ive tried using a datagrid but it's too large to display on the page as there's too much information to display. users need to be able to add, delete, edit and update the database on the asp.net web page. Advice on how best to achieve this would be very much appreciated. Thanx.
