I've got BrightStor ARCServe 9.0 (Build 2020) installed and running on my Windows 2000 PDC/GC/Exchange 2000 server. I've got a 10 slot DLT autoloader hooked up to this machine.

1. Should I create 1 media pool for all servers or should I create 4 seperate media pools (one for each server)?

2. How do I move media from one media pool set to another?

Thanks,

Russell

Can not say what you should do.

The advantage of breaking it up to one to one is higher data security in having only one systems backup per tape. Most people however setup one media pool and have that job backup all the systems.

To move tapes between pools do a Quick Erase Plus.

I have a similar setup 1 autoloader and 5 servers. I want to "span" all servers as 1 backup across the 5 tapes. how do i configure that???

Isysamc, what's the problem just setup a job to backup all five server. The program will automaticly span as needed.
