Best Environment for SQL 2000 Server

My company for years now have been using Access (with its limitations) for site development and applications. We are looking to convert all the applications and web back-ends to either Oracle or SQL 2000 server. I've read from articles how scalable and efficient SQL 2000 server is and as a progrgammer that has used Access (Microsoft tool) for some time, I would really prefer if we go for a SQL Server.

The question is, what is the best environment for a SQL 2000 server (PC Server, Operating system etc). I will be very grateful for your help, as I need this info, to convince my boss that all he needs is the SQL Server 2000.

Well as you know it must run on Windows 2000 Server.

Get a Pentium4 2gig dual processor with 2 gig of ram and all the SCSI drive you can purchase, and you should have the hottest thing aroung DougP, MCP

We run SQL 2000 standard on NT 4 servers with no problem. Performance is good. Most servers have 4 processors running 400 to 600 mhz. Memory ranges from 256KB (too little) to 2 GB. Concurrent usage varies for the servers. Two servers are accessed by over 2000 users with 250 to 400 concurrent users on one and 60-100 on the other.
