In the past I useed Telemate look here:
It was very easy to use, and update.
Now outsourcing ours and do not much care for the idea. Now have little to no control of reporting unless you spend more $$$. Only good part it was not my idea.

Microtel has a product out called Microcall. It is fairly afordable, easy to use, and really nice product. Their tech support is second to none that i have worked with. I would highly recommend this to you.

I agree with Mike's recommendation - our Microcall collects CDR via my CLAN board, and I can use ASA to make synch up changes for both the Definity and Microcall. Excellent customer service. There was no charge to migrate from data module to CLAN-controlled CRD.
I just purchased Ecas from Veramark.
I'm getting trained next week check out the website it looked like the best around, I'll know more after I start using it next week.

I also purchased eCAS from Veramark, I like it a lot because I can setup departments and send department heads automated reports each day/week/month as they prefer for their departments it's web based and by department they can drill down deeper and deeper untill they get to a specific employee and view all of the call detail for that person.
I can also give them restricted access (I can control) that they can go in and request their own reports. They mainly use this in the case of someone was just accidentally disconnected, they can go in and lookup the number themselves.
Each manager can get access to only the departments and reports you give them access to. It saves me the time of doing all of the work for them and they feel like they have more empowerment.
The one thing I miss in e-cas is the scrolling list of live calls finishing, but it will show the single last call if you request it.
My maintenance on eCAS is only $500 per year and it includes software upgrades and rate tables if I need them.
I would highly recommend it. You should pay the extra $ for the training to get the maximum benefit from it.

I am working on a Call Accounting System right now that is about to be freeware.
I have all of the essentials down. I have all the call accounting data being piped to a database and I am reading it into a web page. Within the web page you will be able to set your various filters.
Its almost done. I would say that either this week or next week I will have something together for everyone to view.
How does free sound?

OK, this is what I have done so far.
I have two different approaches that I am working on.
The first approach is fully functional right now and what it does is import the call accounting information from the Definity to a Access database. I then have a few web pages I wrote in ASP that allow you to search the database for different variables. The problem I have heard with Access databases is that they get slow when they get a lot of data in them - so thats why I started the second approach below.
The second approach that I am working on is piping the call accounting information to a MySQL (freeware SQL database). This I am still working on.
The backend of the project is written in VB.Net which is being done by a friend. What the backend does is execute a program called PortDump which listens for the Definity's CDR information on a server or pc on your lan, and then breaks the data down to the different fields and puts it into the database. This was probably the hardest part.
I am by no means a good programmer, if anyone here thinks they could do more with it or wants to help, I invite anyone.

You need to follow my thread "690-769208"
You wont be able to telnet to that port, the switch is piping out to that port - not listening on that port, therefor you need to setup a port listener on the machine that you want to capture the data to.

Are any of you using authorization codes or account codes with the software? I have a customer who is deploying eCas and want to know the best way to have them track their billing?

I'm using account codes with eCAS on external calls. As we speak I'm trying to figure a way to do internal account codes (extension to extension), still not sure if that's possble.
In the switch under disp features there's feature access code page 1 called "CDR Account Code Access Code" it may be #8
Then in the "change sys cdr" command page 1 last option is "CDR Account Code Length" then put in the length of the digits for your Account code.
Dial your CDR FAC then your account code then the number you are dialing, it should then show up on an eCas report.
