Besides the obvious benefit of having the latest and greatest. I would like to find out what true benefit there is to upgradeing to NAVCE 7.6 from 7.5 (actually 7.51.850).
I have read some reviews of the software, but am more interested to here what other I.T.,computer gurus have to say. Please respond if you have actually used this software.

Thanks,

There really is no big difference in it all. The main reason for the upgrade to 7.6 was for Windows XP compatibility.

There may be some other small fixes in the 7.6 release but... J.R. Juiliano

Actually version 8.0 is now out so you might want to consider upgrading to that instead.

Great. I love how I find out stuff like this in forums completely unrelated to either Symantec or the reseller I got the software from.

Grrrrrrr. :-) J.R. Juiliano

I don't think it's NAVCE 8.0. I think 7.6 is the latest. The Entire Package consisting of the CE, in addition to Gateway, Exchange, etc is all part of Symantec Enterprise 8.0 or something like that.

I remember seeing something about a v8 and it turns out that 7.6 is part of the v8 package.

Perhaps not. I just got this from Symantec, and here's a PDF of the 'brochure'.

Sorry if it wraps up. Just copy and paste if that's the case.

Looks like it's a newer version that contains support for NetWare and others. It's called 7.6 a "legacy" application and it's still in wide use! Heh.

Oh, and they changed the name to a couple of previously released products. It's no longer NAV, it's SAV. :-) J.R. Juiliano

Yeah, I see that in the brochure. I'll have to call them and see EXACTLY what the deal is. As I said, I just received a box from Symantec that had 7.6 in it. I'll try to find out what the deal is and get back to you.

Yeah the new version is available for download to Platinum customers. I am not sure when they will be shipping CD's.
