Beginner question

First of all, I'm a beginner to both UNIX/Linux and C++.
At my university they use gcc 2.95.3. My question now is: Does an entirely compatible compiler exists for a Windows platform and, if so, is it available on the Internet?
If not, where can I find a Linux version and how do I install it on a Mandrake system? Regards,

and follow the links from there. I think the ones you're interested in are Bloodshed, DJGPP and EGCS.

DJGPP, availible through the GNU, is just the dos port of g++ (gcc)... It is availible here http://www.gnu.org/directory/All_GNU_Packages/djgpp.html
