can anyone help, The window of his video editing programme appears 2/3 up on the screen, so he cannopt reach any of the buttons, or the bar to move it down the screen so he can see everything.
He has tried ctrl>alt>del. several times but everytime he re-opens the programme the window appears in the same place..
He has shut down the computer, but still has the same problem on re-start.

I don't know if you have resolved this; and this may be a little late...

Earlier this year a client of mine installed Norton 2006 also. A week or so later, she couldn't access ANY of her shortcuts nor would any programs save any new settings.

She informed me that the only thing that was added was Norton 2k6 and she is the only profile (which I confirmed) that was on the system.

I ended up modifing the registry permissions (through ADMIN in safemode) to allow EVERYONE & SYSTEM with full control--which resolved the inaccessability and the software settings not being saved.

That being said (and if you have not re-installed XP yet); try changing the registry's security settings first.

HI MIggy, well we have now bought Pinnacle 10, so haven't had the same problem for a while. The system stills runs very slowly, I took a few items out of the start up menu, including NAV2006, not sure if it is better for this.
Whoops just realised I forgot to tell hubby to start up NAV anytime he goes online.
I have since changed the amount of Virtual memory to the maximum.that might help.

Everytime I hit these problems I am even more glad I run MAC OS X
Thanks for the tip ( and the reminder)
