Hello

We're using Windows 2003 server as a terminal server here, and since upgrading to 2003, my users are getting annoid by this constant beeping noise!

The beep occurs anytime an information or warning box pops up on their screen. Like opening word and typing something and then trying to close it, it'll display the "Do you want to save before exiting" box, which I know is perfectly normal, but it beeps everytime! Almost every program they use does this..

We're also using Citrix, but I got all audio disble through ICA, but the beeping occurs in RDP as well. I've disabled the system speaker, no help.. I just can't think of anything besides a mess of strings in the registry.

Any know how I can get rid of this beeping noise?

Thank you!

In the RPD connection, click options. On the Local Resources tab change the Remote Computer Sound to Do Not Play. That will stop RDP from transmitting the beep from the server to the client.

It will also save on bandwidth as the sound won't be transmitted.

You could also try clearing the sounds setup on the server so that a warning box doesn't play anything.

However I think you would need to do this for every users profile.
