Hey guys,

One of my users accidentally started deleting a folder up on our server. I used BE9.1 to restore using the "skip if file exists" option.

After the restore completed, the very large job log tells me what files were skipped, but I can't for the life of me display what files were actually restored.

Is there a way to display that information?

Thanks.

not any more since the restore has finished.

you would have needed to change the logging option to include file, directories and summary. (tools, Options, Job Log.)

That's why I always restore to an alternate location, and then restore what's missing. I realize this can be overwhelming if the directory has a thousand files. You should never restore on top of existing data, bad stuff can happen.

In your case, I would restore to an alternate location, then rename the old directory. Restore the data to its original location, then copy the contents of the renamed directory over the newly restored data. Then hang on to the old renamed directory for a couple weeks to make sure everyone's cool.

Please always take the time to backup any and all data before performing any actions suggested for ANY problem, regardless of how minor a change it might seem. Also test the backup to make sure it is intact.

Thanks Matt, that would have been a much safer way to do it. Fortunately it worked out ok, *this time* :)
