I want to be able to place a day's backup per tape, I'm trying to not just let backups go to one tape and then rollover to the next tape when the first one fills up. Is there another way to allow backup jobs to handle an autoloader than the way I currently have it setup?
I have partitioned out the autoloader into 8 partitions (holds 8 tapes) and then created 7 jobs (mon-sun) and have each one only set to backup that specific day and only to a specific partition (mon - partition 1; tues - partition 2; etc).
Is there a way to accomplish that using one backup job? It works, but it seems that there would be a simpler way to do it, but I may be wrong.
