I have moved the server with the BCMS server software on it. The IP addresses and the NIC have changed. When trying to connect to the server I am getting a "Trying to locate a naming service" error message and I am unable to connect.

I have looked high and low for a config file or something to get me going but no luck. Any help would be much appreciated.

Try this

The problem may be the omninames-<machine name>.log may have gotten corrupted. This can happen when anything
that has to do with the network has been changed, ie; change in IP address, replacing the (or adding another) NIC card.
• Go to the directory C:\Program Files\Lucent\BCMSVu\Common.
• In the file omninames-<machine name>.log remove all but the first two lines ("port" and "create").
• Restart BCMSVuServer.exe

Notes * * *
• Make sure before modifying this file that the processes omninames, connectionserver and bcmsvuserver
are not running. Check for these using Task Manager and if they are kill the process
• If one or more of these processes are running, modifying the file won't fix the problem.
