Does anybody know of a VoIP capable ATA device for the BCM? We only have VoIP communications to the offsite. The offsite needs a fax machine and the ATA2 does not allow me to specifiy an ip address.

Thanks in advance.

the ATA2 is a device which converts the BCM signalling to a standard analog phone signaling ... aTA has nothing to do with IP

if you mean you have IP connectivity between 2 locations ...and just need 1 phone in hte remote office get a IP Phone and IP client license ...and get soemone to set it up

I do have IP connectivity between the two offices and I have several IP phones at the remote office which are working fine. My problem is how do I use a analog device at the remote office? My BCM is located at office a while office b is only using ip phones.

Wow $499 ouch... do you think a Cisco ATA-186 would achieve the same?

I am not very experienced in supporting the Cisco ATA-186.
The Multitechs should be a no brainer.
Bandwidth requirements using their SPP protocol are also very low.
They are also very feature rich supporting T.38/FXO/FXS/E&M/H.323/SIP/SPP on a per port basis via software.
If the Ciscos can register to eachother and can route to an IP address based on received DTMF tones they should be OK.
They would also have to support T.38 for fax over IP.

One more caveat regarding the Cisco ATA-186 or similar product.
The VoIP gateway on the Norstar ATA side of the network must support FXO the fax side of the network must support FXS.
The Multitech MVP130 supports both.
