I have a win xp home that was bought for our small business office i got it join the domain so to say by help of this forum and able with a batch file i created for the user to access the P drive (personal folder) but i have a M drive and Z drive ( m for accountaing and z for HR) how would i create a batch file that would connect after log in for these two drives. I tried to do it the same way i did for the P drive but didnt work. I know I should have bought XP pro but money was very limited for us. Any help from Batch file experts out there would be great

Would help if you published what you use to map the P: drive.

net use M: \\accountingmachinename\sharename should work as long as user of XP Home machine has access to the share & its underlying folder (not sure how you've 'joined a domain' with XP Home - I know there was a method to frig this published here some months ago, but I've never tried it - so don't know about status of XP Home logon. Is it really a domain logon or just a local one which is same username/password as a doamin one?)

net use P: \\Server\user /user:login password
net use p: \\bigstore1\username /USER:colbys\username user password
the abouve work for the P drive
now would this work for the accounting and hr because the server also houses the personal drives as well since we are a small office

net use m: \\bigstore1\accounting /USER:colbys\username * net use Z: \\bigstore1\hr software /USER:colbys\username *

now would this work that i found this on another site. I would of course have to put the folder name in for accounting and hr of the mapped drive i guess. And am to understand that the * would mean the password. Thanks for responding to me i really am learing this.
