Can anyone tell me how to configure the Summit24e running v4.1.12 to perform as a basic switch. I have deleted ports 1-8 from the default vlan, created an new vlan "asc", added ports 1-8 to the new vlan "asc".

* Summit24:24 # sho vlan asc
VLAN Interface[1-fdc] with name "asc" created by user
Tagging: Untagged (Internal tag 4095)
IP: Not configured.
IPX: Not configured
STPD: Domain "s0" is not running spanning tree protocol
Protocol: Match all unfiltered protocols.
Qos Profile: QP1
Ports: 8. (Number of active port=2)
Untag: 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8

I have two devices connected to ports 3 and 4 which respective ip addresses of 192.168.2.10 and 192.168.2.100 both with a 255.255.255.0 mask.

Can anyone tell me what I am missing.

thanks in advance.

Chris

You could just leave all ports in the default vlan and it will perform as a basic switch.

Thanks for the help. I defaulted the switch with the "unconfig switch" command, and it came up like you said as a defaulted switch.

thanks,

Chris
