Hi,

after a long week of re-installing and re-configuring my Win 2k server I've got Exchange setup and everything is ready to go...but where do I go?

I've gone through the Help file, looked on the web and can't seem to find the basics?!

So, I have setup a couple of users in AD and entered the relevant details for username and password then Create Exchange Mailbox: Alias . Server / Mailbox Store. When I go into Exchange I can't find this user?

I went back into AD and ran the Exchange Tasks Wizard but couldn't find out where to setup pop3 / smtp details for my ISP's

I'm trying to connect my AD users to various ISP's

e.g.
user1 connects to ISP 1 & 2
user2 connects to ISP 1, 3 & 4

I thought it would be as simple as it looks but it doesn't seem so...

My Win2k server is setup like: mynetwork.mydomain.com and my actual mydomain.com website is hosted with another ISP so I need to connect to this one for all users so it would be user1@mydomain.com - user1 / user2@mydomain.com - user2

I guess that this setup would be the same as if I was connecting user2 - user2@anotherdomain.net?

Oh dear.

POP3 / ISP - read up on the POP3 connector.
mynetwork.mydomain.com issues need a masquerade domain or make the change in the recipient update policy. Both done within Exchange System Manager.

Both of these have been covered in this forum.

Thanks Zelandakh,

If you have the thread ID's of other posts could you let me have them? Like I say, I have been searching for information but as this is the first experience I have with Exchange it's proving difficult...probably because I'm unfamiliar with the terminology.

If there are any good links to help me could someone please post them...Thanks

Ok after a little digging around I found the info on how to configure masquerade under SMTP so I think I need to specify a new SMTP virtual server and supply details of the remote server. In POP3 I then need to configure this with the POP3 details of my ISP...

Is this about right?
