Basic Admin Training Material

Avaya will sell you training materials. It's expensive. They have a series called "DEFINITY System's Little Instruction Book" for basic administration, advanced administration, and basic diagnostics. They cost about $39 per book. The Avaya Publication Centre phone number is (800)457-1235. I have a video tape and CD's with AUDIX training that came with the PBX. I suppose those are available as well, for a small fee.

Richard is on the right track but try this, I went into AVAYA support, documents and typed Definity Little Instruction Book in the search box. Then I chose Basic Administration in English and clicked on view PDF file, it will download into Adobe as a file and I printed mine for free! You can do this with the other books as well. These are very easy to understand manuels written by users like us. Also if you want a professional book with CD's go to a website named SUMARIA. They offer Definity classes but they are expensive, I attended the Basic Admin. 2 years ago. They have the book and CD's used in this class for purchase but last time I checked they were in the $1000.00 range.

sorry, I just copied what I saw in the address bar. Try Then choose product documentation. Top left (Search) type in what you want, I typed Definity Little Instruction Book. Maybe you can narrow it down to Basic Administration English so you wont have to scroll through the different languages, then when I found the book I wanted I chose PDF file which downloads to adobe. If you don't have adobe I think it will prompt you to download it. I just went to file print and printed all 3 book to our main copier. Good Luck

I was also frustrated in finding training materials. I located the "Little Instruction" book, but in addition, after registering for Avaya University, I was able to locate both on-line and CD-ROM courses with the help of someone on the Avaya support line.
Some of the difficulty in finding this material arises from the change in name from Definity to MultiVantage. The Basic Administration Training CD I have in front of me bears the course/product number BTC290M2. I started to take the course on the Web, but this CD was mailed to me within a week, and I've been able to use it here and at home. You'll probably need the detailed manual, but the CD gives an excellent overview.

I forgot to mention that all the training material I've found has been free. The CD for Avaya MultiVantage Basic Administration Training is Issue 3.0 dated May 2002. Finding it has been the whole problem, and it depends who you contact or talk to at Avaya support.
