I intend to set up a barcode inventory system in my company. I will be using a thermal transfer printer with a barcode scanner attached on a PDA (batch processing).
I am confused on how the barcode that has been scanned in the PDA(running on Window CE 3.0) would appear. In other words, what kind of format will the data be in and on what application would it be running on. How do I link the data between the PDA and the PC that I will allocate for the inventory management? I understand that the synchronisation will be done once I place the PDA into the cradle but what kind of application should be running on the PDA as well as the PC?
I have been looking around for these information but I can't seem to find anything that can help me.
Could anyone please advice?
Thanks in advanced.

Since you are running Windows CE you could use a Microsoft Product for CE like Excel or something.
When you dock the unit to the Computer it should have a facility that allows you to upload the Excel sheet to the PC.
Then in Excel (on the PC) you should be able to open the sheet. Right??
