I have two Netware servers, one with arcserve 9 with baof and the other one with the nwagent of arcserve 9 with baof. The baof on NOT running the nwagent works perfectly, but the one using the nwagent is not doing is job at all.

I check the config, and try everything just be sure, but it doesn't want to work.

anybody ?

Hi.

I got the same problem. After some searching I found a update for BAOFA that’s is delivered with BAB9.

OFANW.CLI dated 2003-03-14
It’s included i CA test patch T11B234.caz

And it's probably included in BAB9.01 released in the paste week.

Send me a e-mail, andreas@netassist.se
So can I send the file to you.
Regards
/Andreas

Hi.

Some stupid questions.
Is there NSS volumes?
Does the BAOF work if you unload nwagent?
Is it NetWare 5.1, 6.0 or 6.5?

/Andreas

Was on NW 5.1, upgraded this week-end to 6.0 sp3, have the same problem

Did you try using the job option 'use lock mode if deny write fails' (check under retry) ??

regards

Already am in that mode.

Got the same problem. Try playing with the "Retry file/File Sharing" option.

If you have the option "Use lock mode if deny write fails" enabled, BAOF will first try to take control of the open file, and preventing other proceses from accessing it. If it can´t take control because the proces that has the file in use won´t let BAOF interfere, BAOF will try to take exclusive control (lock) as soon as the proces let´s go of the file. But there are some programs whose processes never let go of the file, preventing BAOF from coming in.

If you use one of the "Deny None"-modes, BEB will take control of a "copy" of the file, if the process that has the file in use will not allow exclusive access for BEB. BEB will make a backup of the "copy", not preventing changes made by the process during the backup, but at least you´ll have a backup.

The option that worked for me was "Deny none, if deny write fails".

I got BAOF running side by side with NWagent

Good luck!
