I tried to install a modem on my sons PC and half way through the installation it hung. I restarted it but each time it now restarts itself and just after Windows loads the last desktop icons, it closes with a Windows blue screen and an error message -

bad_pool_caller Stop:0X000000c2 (0X0000007, 0X00000cd4, 0X00000000, 0X4ad260a0)

I've tried system restore in safe mode but apparantly you cannot run it in safe mode. I've started it in safe mode and uninstalled the modem but the problem continues.

Anyone got a fix for this please?

Stephen

This explains what caused the problem but not how to fix it as I've removed the hardware but cant see the modem listed in hardware profile to uninstall it?

Got to the makers web of the modem. Downlaod the most current firmware and drivers for you modem. The driver you have in conflict with something else on the system.
You can always reinstall the modem and use a standard driver.

System Restore should work from Safe Mode.

System Restore will not be able to restore your system to any point (or time) where your computer configuration is/was faulty. It can only restore to a fault free configuration.
