Hello,

My PC monitor (Sony 21") bought 2 years ago has started to show "wire"-like lines accross the screen, multiple. How do I get rid of those. Does gegauzing help? By the way, what is that?

DO these lines mean time to buy a new monitor?

is it just 2 thin black lines the in upper and lower thrid of the screen ?

if so, they have always been there, they are the trinitron stabelizer wires, cant get rid of em

No, it's actually 8 and very annoying as well as prominent. Any ideas?

degaussing kind of like "dumps" the exccess buildup of electrons, etc etc, on a CRT monitor (if memory serves correctly) and it can help a lot, depending on the situation. Perhaps try new video card drivers, might work. If they're complete lines, I'd shy away from saying the monitor is going bad for the moment.
