backup question

I am having a problem backing up certain mailboxes on exchange 2003. I use Veritas BE 8.6 for my backups. Some mailboxes will make my backup hang. I am able to back up about 90% of the mailboxes, but some will not backup. Any suggestions?

Offline defrag the database. You may also need to check database with ISINTEG.

If that doesn't work, let us know if there are any errors in the backup log or event logs.

I am sorry to be so late in getting back to you on this. I did the offline defrag of the exchange database, and no luck. I don't see any errors in the backup or event logs. Any more suggestions?

Another thing to add to this, is every time my backup hangs, my exchange server crashes. Restarting the services will not bring it back to life, only a reboot of the server.

BE8.6 doesn't support Exchange2003, believe you need at least ver 9 for this.
