we are tying to backup a database with Veritas Netbackup and we get this error:BackupMedium::ReportIoError: write failure on backup device 'VNBU0-2856-3364'. Operating system error 995(The I/O operation has been aborted because of either a thread exit or an application request.).
And also this:BackupVirtualDeviceFile::RequestDurableMedia: Flush failure on backup device 'VNBU0-2856-3364'. Operating system error 995(The I/O operation has been aborted because of either a thread exit or an application request.).

Thanks!

I assume that Veritas is giving you this error. The error looks like it is having problems writing to the backup media which will be a veritas problem. Maybe the platter(s) are bad.
Another thing is to make sure you are running the SQL Server backup agent for veritas. You can't backup the SQL Server files like normal because they are open all the time, and are constantly being written to.

No this is not a Veritas Netbackup error. This is a SQL error. There are no problems with the media, are backing other servers to it. And we are using Veritas SQL agent.

So thanks any way.
