Backup problem

I have routers with ISDN backup - when the primary connectionts fail backup ISDN connection goes up.
I would like to recieve email when this situation come.Is it possible to recieve email from syslog (when BRI goes up or ETH goes down)???? Do you have any other suggestion how to get know about this???? Thanks in advance

Look at a program like Kiwi Syslog server which will let you send an alert on an incoming syslog message. There network management tools that would use SNMP to watch the interface and send an alert when it goes down. Solarwinds is a good place to start.
