Backup Operation Incomplete? 1

Recently ARCserve has started giving me a "Backup Operation Incomplete" status in the job summary.

Two possible explainations exist:
Could it be,

a)3 files that were skipped in the first of 5 sessions? (Exact error is W3404 Unable to open file. (File=....)

or

b)A problem with data compression? (W3032 Compression is disabled due to hardware data compression)

So what causes this "Backup Operation Incomplete" status?

Missed files causes a job to be incomplete.

The message that software compression has been disabled is informational only.

My superiors all thought that these w3032 warnings about compression were actually only warnings that compression had been disabled, no more.

They are now reassured!

Turn off the software compression option in the backup job options and the messages will be gone.

But will my data still be compressed or will i have an enormous backup file if i turn off the s/w compression?

The warning message
W3032 Compression is disabled due to hardware data compression.

mean that the hardware compression is enabled in your drive so it is going to disable the software compression since you should use only one compression either the hardware or the software.

turning off software compression will use hardware compression.

don't worry your data will be in compressed mode
