Arcserve 2K fully patched running on Win2K fully patched as a member server in an NT domain, all server are using the Client agent and BAOF.

I have a server sitting in a DMZ that is it's own workgroup and I had been able to backup this up through our firewall.

Earlier this week the server in the DMZ crashed and I had to rebuild from scratch. When I attempted to backup this server with our nightly job I got a message in the log stating it could not login to the server. I removed the object from the backup job and re-added the object but when I try to configure the job it wont let me login to this server with either the domain admin user-id (domain\administrator) or the local admin (localmachine\admin) any ideas??

Thanks in advance

If you are using the Cleint Agent make sure it is running.
Also you can try letting the agent take care of security by entering in the password at the agent.
Has the firewall configuration changed?
Can you login to the system outside of ARCserve?

Here are the answers

1 the client agent is running, I gone so far as to remove and reinstall both the client agent and BAOF.

2 Tried this and it still did not help

3 Firewall has not changed, the only change was the complete rebuild of this machine

4 From the domain no I can not login to this machine.

As per # 4 it sounds like a problem in Windows and not ARCserve.

Try using the Agent security instead of Windows.

From Backup server command line check if you are able to connect to C$ using the syntax \\servername\c$
