HI everyone,

Can someone tell me how I can back up an end users contacts in Outlook2k? I need to reinstall it and cannot lose this persons' contacts or it's my job. Is there a particular file that I am looking for?

Thank you :)

If it's a stand-alone client, everything will probably be in *.pst files.

I cant find any of the contacts in the .pst, only emails...

Okay - here's what you need to do ...

1. Go to the file menu and click Import and Export.
2. Choose the top option, "Export to a File" and click Next.
3. Choose "Personal Folder File (.pst)" and click Next.
4. Select the users mail folder and click the "+" next to it. It will open up and you should see their inbox, contacts, calendar, etc. Make sure the actual mail folder is selected and not any of the subfolders, and then check the box in the lower left labeled "Include Subfolders". Click Next.
5. Browse to find where you want to save your file to and choose how you want to handle any potential duplicates. Click next.
6. Name your backup file something you will be able to remember, select encryption, and (if you want) a password. Click OK.
7. All you have to do now is wait.

Hope this is helpful. Have a good Job. :)
