What are some backup methods you use to keep your system data backed up and safe.

for S-Series servers, FTP to another PC/Server running 3CDAEMON or Microsofts FTP service. By FTPing to another server, if the Hard Drive crashes in the S8300/S8400.S8500/S87XX, you can restore your translations, once you rebuild the system.

You can also use a PCMCIA 128MB card, connected to a USB CF reader/writer. this is how its typically done in an S8500/S87XX system.

you can also use both methods, if you want :)

G3R, we are using Optical Drives, I was more interested in other methods then storing a bunch of Optical tapes =)

On your G3R I used to have spare copies that I kept in a fire proof safe or just take them home. I also used the Utilcal program to give me an electronic version of all translations just in case.

You know something beats nothing every time....

Hell, there are no rules here - we're trying to accomplish something.

I use both methods; CF and FTP. Then I copy the FTP'd files to a secure flash drive that I take home with me. The server that is hosting the FTP session is also backed up by our IR group & stored off-site as well.
