Backup/Maintance notification for logged on users

Curious if there is a way to have Exchange Server 2003 (or some other program) auto-email any logged on users (to the exchange server) 5 minutes before the nightly backup is about to occur.

I only need the email if a user is logged on.

Can this be done.
