Backup Exec Exchange Agent

I have Backup Exec 8.5 installed and working. It has several agents that I got when I got the original software. One of the agents is the MS Exchange Agent. This agent has worked fine on Exchange 5.5. I recently upgraded my Exchange server to 2000 and the agent wouldn't not work (couldn't see the information store). Upon looking at veritas support pages, it appeared that the problem was that the agent was only for Exchange 5.5 servers. So I sent in a request to Veritas to ask how much the 2000 agent would be. They told me that they don't sell it anymore and that I would have to upgrade BE to version 9.0, which would be around $1200. What a bunch of crock.

So my questions are:
Is there an Exchange 2000 agent for Windows 2000/NT BE 8.5?
Will the Exchange 2000 agent 8.6 work on version 8.5?
And, of course, if they are available where can I get them?
