I have not looked at the manual yet. I wanted to get advise before I started digging into the manual. Usually manuals are not very good to really teaching you how to use the product in the real world. But I will give that a try. thanks for your help

veritas also have a training courses for backup exec - they even have certification for it now.
though, the best place for you to start is the manual - it's actually quite good.
