Backup Exec 9.0 Agent problem

After installing Backup Exec 9.0 rev4454

i can not even get the test run to work
gave me this error

Device could not be backed up because an error occurred while connecting to Remote Agent for Windows Servers.
Make sure that Remote Agent for Windows Servers is running on the target system.


this is a local server, i can't seem to remove remote agent, checked all the service, it started

Have you actually ran a real job? Is the service started? How is the service logging on. Should be using local system

yes, i think when i removed ver 8.6, it actually left some of the remote agent behind, so i will have to re-install ver 8.6, then remove it completely
see if that works, i was running ver 8.6 and it has problem backing up the SQL database
