Backup Exec 8.6 and Exchange 2000

I am using Backup Exec version 8.6 with SQL, Exchange and Remote Agents. When I backup the Exchange server, I can only backup mailboxes, not the Information Store. I contacted Veritas and was told that my Exchange agent, even though it was version 8.6, is only for Exchange 5.5. Has anyone else encountered this? I checked Veritas and couldn't find a patch or an upgrade. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Yes, this is true. You need to purchase the Exchange Agent for Exchange 2000. You have the Backup Exec for NT Exchange Agent and you need to purchase the Backup Exec NT/2000 Exchange Agent. There is no patch...strictly licensing.

Thanks steveot. I heard back from Veritas Support with basically the same answer- version 8.6 supports both Exchange 2000 and 5.5, different license.
