I put an Exabyte vxa2 tape drive in a dell server and installed the demo of BE 10.0 It was working fine for three weeks when after a full backup on the weekend it suddenly stopped working. Errors like "Physical Volume Library Media not found" have popped up and under device tab "unknown media" is always displayed. Also under media tab the tapes are not showing. When I run jobs they go into the queued mode under status. I have tried cleaning, different tapes and it still is not working. I talked to exabyte and they think the hardware is fine but veritas is not set up right. I have rebooted and will use the vxatools to update the firmware (after hours. Any ideas?
