Backup completes successfully but file invalid

We are backing up some DB files, the job runs completely with no errors, when doing the restore of a couple of .bak files we receive Invalid file cannot read.
Any thoughts?

Do a backup with Verify Compare Tape to Disk enabled to make sure the data is being written to tape correctly.

If the Invalid File message being reported by ARCserve when doing the restore, or from the DB application when trying to load up the restored file?

Is it in Quick start reports
