Any help on this would be appreciated and helpful.
Thank you.

Corrupted files are just that. Files that are corrupt. They will always cause a failure flag. You can notify the person whose mailbox it is and have them delete the offending message but just having a corrupt file notification does not mean the backup was not successful. What Veritas is telling you is that it hit a corrupted section of the file and if a verify is attempted, the checksum on the stored data will not match the original file checksum.

Veritas has a registry hack to prevent the job fail flag from being set when this happens. Take a look at:

The corrupt file will still be notated in the log file but the job won't fail because of it.

Mike, The IT Guy.... [morning]

Thank you Prydonian. I made the registry change, but I still need to research the Exchange side of it, because we have tried to remove the corrupt files from Exchange, and one of them is not there. Also, the article you gave said: "Please note, this solution is not intended for use with Microsoft Exchange files. Corrupt Microsoft Exchange files may be indicative of another problem with the Exchange store."

I will not know until tomorrow if the registry change works to end the failed backup messages.

I would not suggest the registry change above. Durring an exchange IS backup of there is something wrong with the IS - corrupt log or something it will report the same error in the job log. So if you mask that then you wont know.

As far as you 10 message manager above

Take a look at :
XCLN: How to Use the Mdbvu32 Utility to Remove Inbox Rules

You receive the "The Rules on this machine do not match the rules on your Exchange Server" error message when you use Outlook 2000

We used that Mdbvu Utility on our client computers and that seemed to work. Tomorrow I will see if the errors are logged in the backup log, and then I will change that registry change back.

Thank you very much!!
