backup 5620

Hello All,

I am trying to get a 5620 to backup his settings to an MS FTP server (2003). The FTP server is running, i am able to login and store and get files but the phone keeps saying that he's unable to store the backup file. Maybe an undocumented command within the 46xxsettings.txt file?

No, Dencom is trying to use the FTP backup/restore option that some of the 46/5600 series phones offer.

All I can say is good luck to him, I've tried several times and had very little joy getting it to work.

So far I have been able to get a backup once. Does anybody have a complete list of commands which are valid for the 46xxsettings in combination with the 56xx phones?

Got it to work today. if you've set a default directory in your FTP server, do not set that directory as well in your phone. The phone ignores the default directory.

In my case I use username/password without problems.

Restoring a file was interesting as well. The backup creates a file called [extensio]_4620.txt. If you want to restore a file it should be called 4620.txt

Now it works just fine and is in fact a very good feature.
