Backing up to File System devices

Hi

I'm testing backups using ArcServe 2000 AE (v.7 build 1086),to back up data to a local drive.

The odd thing is that some jobs (regardless of whether they're backup, restore or merge jobs) just won't run unless the job,db & tape engines are stopped & restarted. There isn't even a job log created - I find out the job ran only by checking the ARcServe Log.

If anyone's encountered this problem, Id like to hear how you resolved it.

I am not sure if this is your problem but...

I have used both Arcserve 2000 and ASO 7. We do most of our work remotely via terminal server sessions. Unpatched both products don't really work properly if you submit jobs from within a terminal server session. Even patched jobs don't always run or display properly from a terminal session.

Make sure you have sp4 for arcserve 2000. You can get this from the ca website.
