Trying to backup the shared drive, but it will only back up sucessfully when I pull the network cable out of the back. ;) Other than that, it keeps coming up failed on the verification.

Is there a way of locking the files down so that I can complete the back up even when people are still accessing their network drive space?
thanks

There is an option marked back up open files. Play with the settings and see if that cures your problem. [sig]
Zel
zel@zelandakh.co.uk

[/sig]

The Open file settings are on the Advanced tab of your properties of the backup job. Opening with a lock(if its not already locked) will not allow users to update the files during backup. No lock will attempt to share the files and still get a good backup. Neither setting works 100% for all types of files.

They also have an Open File Option that was designed to let you complete backups of files that are open by other users and bypass these problems. [sig][/sig]
