I have an NT server with three primary partitions.

One partition is the SYS partition that is 3GB in size.

The second partition is 14GB in size and the third and final partition is 6GB in size.

I have recently built a NT server to act as a backup for this server. I have copied the current data held on the partitions to mirror images of the partitions on the new server.

I would like of an evening to restore the data from the live server to the Backup server.

What would be the easiest and cheapest! way to do this??? I would like to append the changes if possible rather than copy almost 30GB across the network each evening.

Thanks in advance

XCOPY is the cheapest - (FREE). :)

NTBackup is FREE but requires a tape drive on your backup server. It cannot backup your NT server's registry (remotely) but a simple rdisk command can remedy this.

Win2000's backup is FREE and does not require a tape backup, it can backup directly to disk.

Legato's Networker I believe is free for single user, and\or backups to disk.

Then there is the Open Source market ... :)

Hope this helps,
