I have a Windows 2000 Active Directory Server and a member Server. On my Active Directory Server I have my Tape Backup using Veritas Backup Exec 9.1 which backs up data just fine.
Now I need to backup 1 folder from the Member Server. From my research I have copied the entire RANT32 folder from the AD Server to the root of the Member Server and am about to run "setupaofo" (on the member server).
Please advise if I'm on the right track here.

Thanks

You will also need a remote agent license installed on you AD server. In backup exec goto tool - serial numbers and installation - local install - next and it will bring you to the serial numbers. You will need some type of remote agent license, sql , or exchange agent to allow a backup of a remote server. If you just have the server license then you will need to purchase a remote agent license

Or, if it's not a lot of data, setup a batch file to copy that remote directory to the AD server just before the backup occurs and save the $$ a remote agent costs.
