Hello, everytime I plug in my ear phones onto my computer I can hear this hissing/static like noise which interferes with the music I'm listening to. Here are some of the devices I have:

MS Wireless mouse
A centrino processor

I've tried removing the mouse and disabling the wireless receiver in the chip but to no avail, the noise is always present. Its not as noticeable maybe even non existent when I use the speakers on my notebook.

Thanks.

Mindsweeper,

Do you use a grounded power contact (hmm, don't know the exact word for it, it's the hole in the wall where you plug in your power cable :))? Non-grounded pc's can cause this kind of behavior.

I'd say it is grounded as the laptop is powered by an adaptor which in turn is connected to a socket in the wall.
