Hey all,

I know my way around the 46xxsettings.txt file, and I am almost sure I configured the lines properly. Has anyone had luck putting a background picture on a 9621... or any 96xx phone? Screensaver works great, this is for the background while the phone is idle, before the Screensaver shows up.

IPO SE 9.0.2
9621 phones 6.3037

In 46xxsettings.txt I set the "Tuples" (word of the day) to:
SET LOGOS Background=SET CURRENT_LOGO Background

I can get to the URL and see the pic on a webpage within the VLAN the phones are in. From the digging I have done online it appears A) only availabe on SIP, but I have not seen this in official Avaya doc's or B) Not available for IPO

Any thoughts or suggestions?

Been there, done that

My guess is that the URL should be address of IP Office>/<name of file> and you put the file in the system folder on the SD card.

Yes, I believe it is only supported on the SIP platform.

If you look at the default 46xxsettings.txt file, you will see that the SET LOGOS and SET CURRENT_LOGO parameters are in a section which says at the top "Settings applicable only to 96xx and 16CC telephone models running the SIP protocol". You will not see those parameters referenced in the H.323 Administration document and will see them referenced in the SIP Administration document.

..so your A) is correct.

That's worth a star, thanks for the feedback.

Guys where can I find the 46XXsettings.txt file?
I can see the SD card and can see all the files on it but dont see the 46XXsettings.txt file.
Its a ip500v2 system
regards

I don't believe it is on the SD card by default, from what I've seen. It should be in your manager directory. Edit it and upload it to the sd card.

Thanks for the prompt reply but since I am newbie to the Avaya system, where is the manager directory?

I am doing this for a 9608 phone and the screensaver come on at the time I defined but the jpg file I created does not come up.
the jpg is the same size as the original Avaya one 178x59 pixels
I have rebooted the phone also.
but on reboot the Avaya logo still come up.

You need to clear the handset to make it take the new image in my experiance, you also need to tell it the new file name in the 46xx settings file before doing this :)

How do I clear all 150 handsets in my organization?
also is there a way to control the timing when the screen on the 9608 set dims?

Regards

When you use the same name for the screensaver then you need to clear the phone.
You do that by pressing the mute key and then type craft and press the # button.
Go to the option clear and confirm it.

On the 46xxsettings.txt file there is also an option called SET SCREENSAVER with a time.
Remove the ## and set the time in minutes.
Perhaps also set the SETBAKLIGHT setting to turn the screen off after some time.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

tlpeter - so i have to walkaround to all the 150 handsets and do this one at a time?
that does not sound very practical.

That will not clear the phones, just restart them.

Wouldn't it be easier to Upload the new jpg with a new file arme to http server and to change the 46xxsettings.txt to Match the Screensaver file Name with the new jpg's file name? After that just Reboot all the phones

No need to touch every single phone...
