Back Up Stops at Random Percentages? I'm Desparate!

Prerequisites:
ARCserve 11.5 SP2
All ARCserve Updates as of 11/06/06

Win 2003 Server Standard Edition SP1
All Windows 2003 Server Std Updates as of 11/06/06

Dell Server PE2850
Intel Xeon 3.00 Ghz
2 GB Ram
Dell PERC 4e/Di Raid Controller
All Raid controller firmware updates as of 11/06/06


My ARC Serve backup on my PDC randomly stops and say that the media is full and ejects the tape when it is NOT full. I have not had a full back up in about 2 weeks because of this problem. CA support has been useless and can't help me, I know the software better than they do and when I do get someone who actually speaks English they have me go through the same scripted routines. Basically It stops at random percentages yesterday it stopped at 78% this morning it stopped at at 20% and ejected like the tape was full when the total disk size is 48GB and the total media size is 52GB. I need to know the following answers to the following questions.

1. Why when the data is compressed it should be a 72GB tape and it's only showing up as Total Size (Media).....52GB ?

2. Why if the media says it's total disk size is 48GB and the total media size is 52GB why does the backup stop at 78% and eject the tape like it's full?

1 - If the drive is connected to the RAID card - Not Supported

2 72Gb is a compressed capacity not a native one - 36Gb is native, that's the capacity you should get, anything over that depends on a number of factors. The fact that it randomly backs up more or less is probably related to point 1.
