Back-up failed 1

I have Backup Exec 8.6. Every day I baking up my server Window 2000 SBE. Back-up include System partition C: and partition for data E:. Recently I included Microsoft Exchange Mailboxes, Microsoft Information Store and System State directories. Since than my backup failing every day.
It seems like everything backed up and verified but last message in my log file is "backup failed."

Do you have any idea why?

If you do, try not to backup your exchange twice (i.e both on c:\Program Files\Exchsrvr\MDBDATA\ and the information store checkbox...use the latter for best performance)

I get exactly the same problem. Windows 2000 Server SP4, with Backup Exec 8.6 for Datacentres. I'm not backing up any Excange servers, just remote data servers (connected to the same switch, though), onto a Compaq StorageWorks 5026 auto-loader.

The backup completes and fails every time. No errors. I've tried everything I can think of, including building a new server from scratch and running a backup from there.

What the heck is going on?

Might just be a bad email - check it in outlook, see if its OK.

Gunnerwiththelot, Backup exec will not fail a job for no reason, there is something there that it doesn't or can't do, so it's fails the job.

Thank you justin2000. You absolutelly right. After I ask the user to delete this e-mail from Deleted Items. I ran my backup again with no problem. I agree with you comments about BacupExec. This is a program you can count on. I'm using that program started from version 6.0. Problem I have, happened first time. This why I didn't know what to do. Thank you much again.

Hi, I

It seems like I have some corrupt PST's(see below), although I have used SCANPST.EXE to repair them and there is no problem using the PST's in Outlook. Is this what's failing my backup? If so, how do I fix it if the PST's seem ok?

Backup exec cant backup PST files without the open file option. Users must close out of backup exec or exlude the file or Open File option.
